State of Colorado Accessibility Statement

The State of Colorado is committed to providing equitable access to our services to all Coloradans. Our ongoing accessibility effort works towards being in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, levels A and AA criteria, per the State of Colorado Technical Standard TS-OEA-002 and House Bill 21-1110. These guidelines not only help make web content accessible to users with sensory, cognitive and mobility disabilities but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability.

This website is just part of a meaningful change in making all State of Colorado services inclusive and accessible. We welcome comments on how to improve this website’s accessibility for users with disabilities and for requests for accommodations to any Safe2Tell Colorado services.

How We Test Our Websites

Safe2Tell relies on both automated and manual accessibility and quality testing processes. Automated tests are validated and addressed by staff who engage in more thorough evaluations. Examples of resources and processes that we use to help us identify and resolve potential accessibility and quality issues include:

  •  Automated evaluation with SiteImprove
  •  On-demand evaluation with Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (WAVE) by WebAIM
  •  On-demand evaluation using ANDI by the Accessible Solutions Branch of the Social Security Administration
  •  Human-led content reviews
  •  Human-led testing with screen readers
  •  Human-led testing with visual difference emulators

We have also endeavored to achieve AA accessibility as measured against version 2.1 of the WCAG. We are aware however, that a number of the checkpoints of the WCAG are subjective — and although we are sure that we have met them squarely, there may be instances where interpretation may vary.

For accessibility concerns on the Safe2Tell Colorado website please send an email to accessibility@coag.gov.
