Conversation Jumpstarts Classroom Discussions

Conversation Jumpstarts

Safe2Tell Colorado provides training modules to counselors, teachers, administrators, health educators and school resource officers to certify them in leading guided classroom discussions about issues facing youth and the Safe2Tell solution. Safe2Tell student training emphasizes five main ideas:

  1. Students know safety and mental health concerns about their peers before adults.
  2. Because of this, and as part of a healthy community, students have a duty to tell. Students should report any safety concern where their desire is to protect, prevent, or help.
  3. As a first step, students should always try to talk to a trusted adult.
  4. If that’s too hard, or if a trusted adult is not around, Safe2Tell is a backup plan.
  5. Safe2Tell is anonymous to encourage students to break the Code of Silence and speak up.

Links to Safe2Tell presentations are below. Each link is to a Google Form that will ask for number of students trained, school, audience, etc. This data will help Safe2Tell track the usage and effectiveness of it’s curriculum. After filling out the form, an email with a link to the presentation will be sent along with a copy of the form responses. Each presentation also has a link to numerous age appropriate Safe2Tell extension activities.
