HB20-1113 Historical Background
On July 8, 2020, Governor Polis signed into law HB20-1113 “Concerning mental health educational resources, and, in connection there with, making enhancements to the Safe2Tell program.”
In response to this statutory change and to best serve youth and stakeholders across Colorado, Safe2Tell will be convening a series of stakeholder webinars/meetings. During these meetings, stakeholders and community members will have the opportunity to learn more about Safe2Tell and inform new processes to further align with K-12 early intervention best practices. This page will include information/links pertaining to all stakeholder webinar/meetings as well as share any feedback, comments and questions received via Safe2TellHB1113@coag.gov.
Through these meetings and in collaboration with local partners, we will “devise a process and develop standardized protocols so that any communication related to mental health or substance use received by safe2tell, including any communication related to another person, may be transferred, as appropriate, to the statewide behavioral crisis response system created pursuant to section 27-60-103.” C.R.S. § 24-31-603(3).
The first webinar occured on Thursday, September 17, 2020. A recording of the webinar held on 9/17/2020 can be found here. Safe2Tell issued a call-to-action, encouraging participants to submit their post-webinar feedback, comments and questions to Safe2TellHB1113@coag.gov by COB on 10/02/2020. A document listing all 9/17/2020 webinar feedback, comments and questions received via Safe2TellHB1113@coag.gov, can be found here.
