QUESTION: What is SAFE TO TELL™ ?
ANSWER: SAFE TO TELL™ is based on the Colorado Prevention Initiative for School Safety. SAFE TO TELL™ gives students or anyone else a safe, anonymous way to report information they have about a crime, potentially Top of Pagedangerous situation, or other concerns.

QUESTION: How does SAFE TO TELL™ work?
ANSWER: It's easy. Anyone who has information about a crime, potentially dangerous situation, or other concern can call the toll free, state wide hot line number at 1-877-542-7233 . A trained call taker will answer the phone and write down the caller's information. No one will make the caller give his or her name, and Top of Pagewe don't have caller I.D.

QUESTION: How do I make a call?
ANSWER: To call SAFE TO TELL™, dial 1-877-542-7233 from any phone, anywhere in the United States. That means you can call from your home, a friend or relative's home, a pay phone, school phone, cell phone…any phone for FREE. Once you've told the call taker your about your concern, you'll be given any further instructions Top of Pagethat you may need.

QUESTION: How do I remain anonymous?
ANSWER: Safe2tell will assign you a code number. We will track your tip by using your code number (not your name). If we list your code number on our website, it means that we want you to call back so we can ask more questions.

QUESTION: When should I call SAFE TO TELL™?
ANSWER: You can call us at 1-877-542-7233, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The call is free. Remember, you can call from anywhere and your identity is Top of Pagesafe. Tips only accepted at this hot line number.

QUESTION: Why should I call SAFE TO TELL™?
ANSWER: You should call SAFE TO TELL™anytime you have information about a crime that has happened, or if you think something bad could happen. That includes but is not limited to gang activity, guns or other weapons, drugs or alcohol, fights, suicide Top of Pagethreats, bullying, or sexual crimes. QUESTION: What happens to information called into SAFE TO TELL™?
ANSWER: A trained call taker writes down all information that's called into SAFE TO TELL™. All tips are investigated immediately by appropriate school and/or law Top of Pageenforcement officials.

QUESTION: Can I monitor my tip?
ANSWER: Yes. We encourage everyone who calls SAFE TO TELL™ to monitor the status of his or her tip. When you call SAFE TO TELL™, you'll be given a code number. Using that number, you can check on "Need Someone to Listen" page of this web site to see if your code appears. If it does, it means the call center needs you to call back at 1-877-542-7233.
